5000 Years Ago

Over 5000 years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel 'pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the promised land.' Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, 'Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the promised land'. Now Obama has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of camels, and mortgaged the promised land." God help us!

Youth Activism and You!

“What do I matter? You have to be 18 to vote anyways.” This discouraging cry of futility is too often heard coming from young adults with a passion for politics but no outlet. Even though you can’t vote until 18 you can still affect the political world.

The best way to do this is through activist groups, such as the Houston Tea Party Society. Founder, Felicia Cravens told me her view on youth activists “We believe the only way to maintain our republic is to make sure each generation coming behind is well-grounded in the founding documents, and in the concept of liberty. That means students have to be the ones to take up the cause.”

Though all are important not all activist groups are the same. There are various types, such as the Grassroots movement which is a citizen organized group; there are Community organizational groups which can be backed by larger and national organizations. Personally grassroots tends to be more personal and addresses more local issues but activism in general is great.

Student activism has more benefits than getting your voice heard. Groups such as the NRA offer scholarship essay competitions. And if Ms. Cravens has her way the Houston Tea Party will be starting one soon.

So before you become discouraged and give up let some words from Ronald Reagan inspire you to achieve and have your voice heard; “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”

Objectivism And You!

I have been reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Ayn Rand created a philosophy called objectivism. Basically it is the acceptance of reality and reason, and that man should be as self reliant as possible and that capitalism is the best form of economy. This places the mind as the most valuable and important asset of any human.

This has changed my outlook on the world, I have realized that need does not outweigh ability. That altruism isn’t the way to prosperity. As humans we must realize that the successful aren’t exploitatious they have just used their ability to further themselves and through their success they brought wealth to able men and women.

This quote and the philosophy it represents also teaches to not exploit and steal, whether legal or not. Do not ask another man to support you, at the same time not letting others live off your ability. Is it not he best help to anyone that you let them fail and learn to be productive?

A great example of Rand’s philosophy in action is an airplane, what is supporting you? Is it the physical labor that made the plane, or is it the idea that came from the mind of man, that molded material into a vision of knowledge of mechanics and physics and chemistry? This doesn’t discredit completely the physical labor but without the vision, without the mental ability that physical labor would do nothing. Another example is chopping down a tree, if it wasn’t for a mind to lead the body to discover that swinging a metal wedge at the tree will cause it to split would anybody ever complete a task considered laborious, and then to think of running a serrated metal blade along the tree, to pulling a cord that sparks a liquid that powers a motor that pulls a chain that does the labor for you, was that just a product of a set of muscles? No, it was the mind that created.

Even with non- industrious jobs, is it not the football player that is able to plan the best play to score that is paid the most? Is it not the artist that is able to pull on their creativity to write the best song, or create the most awe inspiring art the successful artist?

We must celebrate intelligence and not dismiss those who do as greedy and selfish, because in selfishness you can find morality. We must be a society of traders, giving value to value and not a society of producers and consumers. This is all summed up by a single phrase: from all by ability, to all by ability.

Why So Socialist?


Not only is Comrade Obama doing badly in his approval ratings but this poster is being place all over America! The Cult of Personality is cracking under the weight of his failures! And this forms a serious problem for the MSM who has put him as their goldenchild since day one what happens when his public opinion completely falters? I am predicting the death of MSM this (as stated by many other people) is their Waterloo. After this people will go to independent sources to get information this will mean a better aware populace and the death of the Republican and Democratic parties.

Sotomayor II: The Dems Strike Back and The Messiah is Slipping?


So it seems like Sotomayor passed the judiciary committee, but with a solid G.O.P. opposition (minus Lindsey Graham p.s. you are dead to me) it seems that "The Chosen One" hasn't reached aross party lines very much good job Barack one more campaign promise kaput. In other news Obama's approval rating is down to 56% and it's on a downward trend maybe people are opening their eyes to the travesty to what America stands for that is Barack Hussein Obama. I can only hope we go Honduras on his ass.

Texas


This week I'm on vacation in San Antonio and when you're in San Antonio you go to The Alamo. Being in the Cradle of Texas Liberty is a deep experience for a secessionist like me. To walk on such hallowed ground is almost a religious moment I am proud that the men at The Alamo gave their lives for my home and if they are to be honored as the heroes that they are we must raise the torch of justice and liberty and stand tall as a nation once more. Texas must overcome the tyranny of a large kleptocratic government and form a republic based on what America once stood for: freedom, liberty, and capitalism; not a nanny state where the government knows what's best for your home life and office life. This can be achieved by peaceful secession we will not look for a fight, this is not the time to "teach those Yankee bastards a lesson" there will be a time and when America is a shadow of it's former greatness and it is 0verrun by communist kleptocrats while Texas prospers that will be a lesson enough. Then on that day Texas will be able to rejoin the United States and bring it back to the powerhouse of freedom it once was. This is the call to arms, political arms to liberate Texas. When you are sure that we cannot do it, remember The Alamo! Remember Gonzalez! Remember Goliad! And remember San Jacinto! We defeated one tyrant that disregarded the constitution once we can do it again!

The Pitfalls of Socialized Medicine

So recently socialized medicine has been brought up and looking at the facts I oppose it. For one though the healthcare is free it will be limited healthcare without tests and specialists. Also there is no such thing as a free lunch. The costs of a government run healthcare system will be so great that taxes on people and companies will be taxed into the poor house and in a recession there aren't many people not in the poorhouse. I will admit that healthcare costs are too high and I have a plan to lower costs, lower government regulation on medicine. Another way is to have emergency rooms only treat those who can't pay if their emergency is life threatening this will lower the burden on paying customers. Government regulation does not lower costs on high quality healthcare it only raises costs on rationed healthcare.

To the people of Honduras; our President's demonization of your revolt against a despot and a tyrant is inexcusable. How the leader of a nation known for being a beacon of democracy to the oppressed and the downtrodden can support the oppression of a nation truly shows that there has been change but the hope has left. Honduran people do not blame all Americans for the mistakes of our leader many didn't vote for him. I didn't vote for him for one. Honduran people I hope you can forgive America for it's President's shortcomings and pitfalls and not let this inhibit your views of Real Americans.

Gay Marriage

As a Libertarian I know that it's not the government's job to tell you what to do, but if you look at The Constitution there's a major flaw in both pro and con arguments: it doesn't define marriage. No where does it say marriage is confined to a man and a woman... but it doesn't address gay marriage. But The Constitution does provide a simple way to fix this problem and it's the 10th Amendment. The 10th Amendment says that if it's not in The Constitution it's up to the states or the people to decide (such as Prop 8 in California). This way states like Texas where gay marriage can be guaranteed to not be legalized can keep their values, and states like Massachusetts and Vermont where gay marriage probably will be legalized don't have to have the beliefs of others pushed upon them. Now you may ask "What about the gay people in Texas?" Well if you are gay and you expect the State of Texas to marry you, you obviously are dumb. And if you're a homophobe or just strongly anti-gay and you live where it becomes legal... move if it's really going to bother you. To the Liberals out there: just cause you wish really hard doesn't make everything a right. And to my Conservatives: you need to remember it's a free country and your views aren't to be pushed on others.

I am a white male and I am really offended that because of my skin color and genital type that I am discriminated against. And to have this woman on the highest court in the land would be a giant mistake for justice. If a white male had said the opposite in her position he would be labeled a racist and lynched! Hell she's a member of “La Raza" (The Race). The name of La Raza is racist in itself because it infers that the Hispanic race is any better than any other race when truly all races are equal. Many conservative voices have labeled Sotomayor a reverse racist, but she's not, she is a racist plain and simple there's no fancy term for it she just is a racist. I think that any nominee for any office that high should be proved that they will be truly impartial and if their judgment will be clouded by ignorance through racism then they do not deserve any position of power.
